SOLTY FRIDAY’S 10.23

I have something extra special for you guys today! Jaye’s Studio recently launched their Fall/Holiday collection and it is stunning! I’m fortunate to have been gifted their brand new Sussex Plaid Tray and Assorted Ginger Jar Ornaments. Both match my decor PERFECTLY. I love that I can incorporate blue and white holiday inspired pieces into my collection. And believe me when I say that both the tray and ornaments are beautiful quality- such top notch design and craftsmanship.

The plaid tray is a piece that I will use over and over, whether it’s to style items on my coffee table, or use it for snacks and beverages during a movie night. It’s so functional and I love that. I also envision using the ginger jar ornaments beyond the Christmas tree. They are actually pretty hefty in weight and I think they are so cute styled on shelves, on a coffee table, or used as name place holders on a dining room table. I love a piece that is beautiful and has so many uses. Be sure to check out the new collection at Jaye’s Studio and use code SHANNON15 for 15% off your order!!

> I’ve been watching Dream Home Makeover by Studio McGee on Netflix and it’s so.good. I’m such a sucker for good design shows and this is one of my favorite’s to date.

> We have a pub style table in our kitchen nook that we’ve had since we moved into this house and it’s just getting too small for the three of us.  Plus, Lilly is quickly outgrowing her high chair and she needs to be at the table.  This past weekend I purchased a new kitchen table that will fit four chairs and I’m so excited.  I really wanted this one from Serena and Lily, but was not going to pay $1500.  I found a similar style on Wayfair for much, much less and I can’t wait for it to arrive.

> Since I bought a new table, now I need to find new chairs! I love the traditional spindle chair and I’m currently eyeing these ones from Target

> If you are a coffee drinker and someone who loves cute branding, you will love Preppy Coffee! This brand new company offers the cutest, preppiest patterns for your coffee.  Head to their website to select your preppy print, your coffee roast, and click ship! It’s that easy.

And with that, I’m going to sign off and finish getting ready for L’s birthday! There are a few decorations to hang up and a handful of presents to wrap.

Shannon

SOLTY FRIDAY’S 10.16

Below are this week’s edition of Solty Friday’s.

> Mackenzie Horan from Design Darling is one of my favorite bloggers.  I’ve been following her for years and her style is always so good.  She recently bought a house and has been fixing it up.  This week she revealed her mudroom and laundry room and both are beautiful! If I had all the funds in the world I would want my house to look exactly like hers.  I love her classic, blue and white vibe.

> L’s birthday is next Saturday! Ahhh!! We aren’t having any large parties this year, but I still want it to be special.  I decided on a “Two Wild” theme – think big palm leaves, bright pink flowers, elephants, gorillas – basically the rainforest.  I found a bunch of items at Target for this theme and I’m so excited.  I saw this theme on Pinterest and this cake has been my inspiration.

> I recently finished my Scotland inspired book that was recommended by my friend Sarah and now I’m reading a book recommended by Rob.  It’s called Circe.  If you like Greek Mythology and witchcraft, then you’ll love this book.

> I have some exciting collaborations coming up for the holidays and one is with Jaye’s Studio.  I’ll be sharing more about this in the coming weeks!

> A lot of you loved my navy quilted pullover that I wore on our weekend getaway so I’m linking it here!  It’s one of my favorite pieces from Erie and Anchor.  You can shop it by clicking here.

> In case you missed my blog post from earlier this week, you can find it here! I’m chatting about our weekend away to the Inn at Honey Run.

> I feel like I’m always shopping the J.Crew Factory site.  Right now I’m totally into this headband, this pink Sherpa pullover, the cotton wool teddie sweater,  this corduroy mini skirt, and the herringbone city coat

And that’s it for this week.

SOLTY FRIDAY’S 10.09

After I post this week’s edition of Solty Friday’s, I’m unplugging for the weekend and I’m pretty excited about it.  I have a little bit of FOMO, but I know mentally I could use a refresh and a mini getaway with no social media might be just what I need.  So enjoy this week’s favorite things and updates, and I’ll catch you guys next week (hopefully feeling more creative!)

> It was just released that HBOMax is releasing a special West Wing episode next week and we are so.excited.  We love this classic show from the late 1990’s/early 2000’s.  Can’t wait for the special edition episode with appearances from former First Lady Michelle Obama and Lin Manual Miranda.  Eeek!

> One of the best things to come out of the current public health emergency is the emergence of wine delivery.  In case you missed my blog post this week, I’m sharing a discount for my followers when they sign-up for Winc’s Wine Club. Read more here.

> L’s birthday is coming up and we bought her a big girl bike! How is she that old?! I also just picked up this cute smoothie playset from Kid Kraft.  I have a few smaller things to get her still, but what the girl really needs is clothes!

> One of my Instagram friends started a children’s line of clothing a few months ago.  I shared about this brand in my Brand Spotlight series (here) and the dress L is wearing in the cover photo is from their fall line.  It’s seriously the CUTEST! We get so many compliments every time we wear it.  And the quality is so good.  Definitely check out Shop Maddie and Connor if you have littles!

> A blogger I follow linked this article about Mom Guilt on on her blog.  I think mom guilt is something we all feel and understand, and this article very much reminded me that it’s okay to take time for myself.

And with that, I will leave you all to enjoy the weekend!

SOLTY FRIDAY’S 10.2

Happy October! Wow, I can’t believe it’s already October.  Birthday month was a complete whirlwind and I’m so sad it’s over.  BUT, Rob and I have a weekend getaway planned this month and I’m getting VERY excited.  It’s been over a year since we went away, just the two of us.  And in case you missed it last week, we are heading to the Inn at Honey Run – a cozy and remote getaway in the heartland of Ohio.  Fingers crossed that it’s peak fall foliage time because it looks like there are some amazing views!!

And without further ado, here are this week’s Solty Friday’s.

> One of the items we are currently shopping for is a new kitchen table.  Right now we have a pub style high top, but Lilly is growing out of her highchair and we need a shorter, four top.  I saved some styles I love on my Pinterest page.  Check them out here: style 1, style 2, style 3

> Last weekend we watched Enola Holmes on Netflix and it was excellent! It was exactly the type of movie we needed – smart, witty, charming, delightful.  It was such a feel good movie.  We definitely recommend it!

> In case you missed it, I shared some tricks I use to keep our house clean and organized 90% of the time.  You can find the blog post here.

> If you have been following along for awhile, you will know all the house projects we completed this summer.  One of the projects was repainting the family room.  It went from a blueish-gray to white.  I swapped out the rug already, but this week I bought these curtains to replace our dark navy blue ones.  Next up is new artwork and I can’t wait to share what I picked!!

> Monday is going to be a big day in the Solt house! We are getting Rob’s childhood piano (Rob is an excellent musician and is a master of the piano and saxophone).  This will require lots of rearranging of our living room.  AND, our striped chaise lounge chair that I ordered back in August is arriving in two weeks!! AHHHH.

> We have plans to go apple picking next week! I also have a fun collaboration happening next week, so stay tuned for some fun on my Instagram page

There is so much going on in our lives, as I’m sure you can tell.  Enjoy this first weekend in October!

Slainte,

Shannon

SOLTY FRIDAY’S 9.25

What an incredibly hectic week.  I can’t even pinpoint why it’s been so busy, but we’ve just been non stop all week.  I’ve barely had time to check in on my favorite social channels (ha! But for real).  Needless to say we are looking forward to a weekend with no plans!

I’ll get straight to the point on this last Friday in September (where the heck did this month go BTW?!).  Below are this week’s Solty Fridays!

> Earlier this year I partnered with Sternlines, a New England based brand that creates sustainable and environmentally friendly products, and wrote two blog posts for them about our family adventures! You can read the spring blog post here and the summer blog post here (just published last week!).  Follow along on their Instagram for my fall blog post!

> This week I brought The 9-5 Edit Style Series back! I started this earlier in 2020 as a way to showcase work outfits, but I put it on hold with COVID.  I styled the ever popular J.Crew Sidewalk Skirt this month! You can read the blog post here.

> In March, Rob and I were supposed to head out of town for a weekend.  That weekend happened to be the weekend Ohio was ordered to stay home.  So we moved the trip to August, but I wasn’t quite ready to travel so we rescheduled to October. And I think I’m finally ready to go away for a weekend! We are heading to the Inn at Honey Run – a cozy and remote getaway in the heartland of Ohio.  Fingers crossed that it’s peak fall foliage time because it looks like there are some amazing views!!

> We totally have been sucked into the show on CBS called Love Island! HA! Anyone else??! I’m totally team Justine and Caleb, but I’d be equally happy with Cely and Johnny.  Also, Calvin is totally underrated and gives me all the JFK vibes.   We’ve also been watching The Challenger on Netflix and it’s equally riveting.  Definitely a must watch.

> I shared in my stories earlier this week some new clothes for L! There was some interest in the raincoat and boots, so you can shop the boots here and the coat here

> My friend Sarah recommended a mystery novel based in Scotland a few weeks ago and of course I had to buy the book she recommended! I started it this week and it’s already so.good. Look up Women of the Dunes on Amazon – it’s perfectly Scottish in all the good ways.

That’s all I have for this week! Like I said, it’s been a busy, busy week!

Happy weekend!  Slainte!

Shannon
